Underwater Director of Photography

Underwater DP based in Los Angeles, shooting below the surface since 2010. Documentary series, commercials, and narrative features, including five seasons as supervising DP on Bering Sea Gold. I own and rent a full range of underwater housings and comms, so a shoot can come together with the best tools and crew.

Conditions

Cold water and near-zero visibility. Overhead ice environments. Open ocean off small boats with no surface support. Pools and tanks where the underwater shot has to cut against plates and topside scenes.

Selected work

Bering Sea Gold — Discovery, Original Productions. Supervising DP across five seasons with underwater gold miners working in the Bering Sea off Nome, Alaska.

Port Protection — National Geographic, BBC Studios. Underwater DP and story producer in a remote southeast Alaskan community.

NASA Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory — Apple, Gates Underwater Products. Immersive DP shooting spatial video where astronauts train for spacewalks.
