Immersive DP working with Apple and Gates Underwater Products, shooting inside NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory in Houston where astronauts train for spacewalks. Captured in spatial video using a Gates housing built for the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive.

Supervising DP on Bering Sea Gold for Discovery and Original Productions. Five seasons shooting underwater gold miners off Nome in near-zero visibility and under the ice. Designed the show's look and trained the camera team. Five operators, four assistants, and technicians, ahead of each season.

Underwater director of photography for National Geographic and BBC Studios. The series follows a remote community in southeast Alaska living off the grid, which meant shooting in cold, low-visibility conditions off small boats with little surface support.
MUD MADNESS

DP on the first season of Mud Madness for Discovery and Original Productions. Building a show from scratch meant working directly with the creators to get their idea on screen, then running a ten-person team across as many as fifty cameras at once. Half the job was planning and keeping media organized at pace.

Client: Gates Underwater + The Elwyn Gates Family
Producer and director. Elwyn Gates started building underwater housings in his San Diego garage in 1969 and ended up setting the standard for professional underwater cinema. He passed away during production, so the film became a portrait made with interviews, archival photographs and video.

DP for Van Wagner and Churchill Downs at the Kentucky Derby. Run-and-gun coverage around the grounds, the texture and atmosphere a race feed doesn't get, turned fast enough that editors had fresh material to cut into the live broadcast.
